On Wednesday morning Jolie and I were evacuated from Bible study at our church in Carlsbad. Here's a picture of the smoke from our church parking lot:
We got home and here's a picture of the smoke from our house:
Later that afternoon another fire started up in San Marcos:
It was super hot so Jordy and Jolie went in the sprinklers to try and cool off:
We ate dinner in Jolie's room since she has AC:
Later that evening we took a walk on the beach:
The next day my parents stopped by because my mom's school was closed and my dad went in the sprinklers with Jolie to cool off while I tutored:
A few days later Jordy and I were in San Marcos for our softball game. We couldn't believe how close to the fires got to CSUSM and to houses. It looks like the firefighters did an incredible job. It was so eery seeing the charred landscape right up to the road:
